Awdal development Organization cooperate with Read NGO in the province of Awdal. Our local partner is responsible to set up and for the use of 22 primary schools. These schools are used by more than 4000 children and 2000 adults.
The control of our local organisation is one or more visits dependent on the financial possibilities. People in the diaspora and the local population are responsible for the existence of the schools.
The government is Somaliland has few resources, what makes education a private matter. Each parent is considered to pay for the education of the child. Education is not mandatory.
The local organisation is responsible for the exploitation of the schools. Salaries for the teachers is the responsibility of the school governing board, people in the diaspora and everyone in the country which can make a contribution.
The last 7 years we are busy in this way to make education for everyone possible. Read and ADO are the only organization from Awdal self that are working in educational and social development sector within this province. (80%).
