Awdal Development Organization ask for your attention to problems of the school going children in country of Awdal (Somalia/Somaliland).
On this photograph stand a number of young children that each day must walk more than 7 kilometres go to school. The children on the photograph live in Libaaxley valley of the province Awdal they had no access to education for the arrival of our local organization. Fortunately these children now go to school.
The school is on a central location. This means that the distance for each child differing in to go to school. Ideal would be that all these children on the school are taken care of, but we have not the resource.
In any case, these children gives the example of that these children and their parents realize the importance of education and that they take the effort also if the school is way far.
These children sometimes go without breakfast to school. With the WFP, Awdal Development Organization we try to change this. THE WFP have promises that they would make food available for these children but till now the school has received no food.
At present we have collect money with the parents. We have bought food for two months. As the WFP the coming month (January 2008) not provide food, it would mean that these children with go to school and have to learn whit an empty a stomach.
